Beautiful historic hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Breakfast and dinner buffets are both delicious. We asked for a room in the old building and were accommodated. The room was incredibly charming and had the largest balcony we've ever had in a hotel room. The views were expansive and fantastic! Just the plumbing could be improved. The staff was friendly and always helpful. We even took out a row boat the hotel provided to relax on the water.

This hotel is spectacular! Absolutely beautiful. Right on the water with stunning views. The hotel itself is really lovely and historic. The pictures online made it look a bit stuffy but it wasn’t at all. I had a room in the modern building that overlooked the water and it was breathtaking. Nice big balcony and good sized room. The bathroom floor was heated and the bathtub was nice and deep. I had dinner and breakfast here and both were delicious and had a lot of options. I wish I’d been able to stay for longer.

Dined at the restaurant and walked it grounds. Kviknes Hotel is a real gem I must say. With all it’s antique furnitures and pieces. Go visit and you’ll be taken back in time to the hotel’s history which is more than a century ago. The food (ordered the three-course meal) was ok. Service was ok (the servers lacked friendliness and seemed to be rushing us) oh to be fair it was the peak of summer and the corona virus was still raging on therefore Norwegians were vacationing at home which may explain why the hotel was fully booked and packed to the brim.

The best night's stay we had in Norway, a fantastic spot to stay ... wished we'd booked more than one night. Our is practically an art museum with some of the best fjord views. The breakfast was excellent with that view.

We stayed at this hotel 5 years ago. It was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to and I travelled all over the world. The beauty of Norway is endless! I am listening to the cording of the piano music from the hotel right now and my heart aches because we are unable to explore the beauty of God's world due to a world pandemic! By the time it's over I might not be able to travel again, due to my age. So very, very sad!

Outstanding historic hotel in the stunning village of Balestrand. Food is gourmet quality, restaurant is run like a well oiled machine. Views from all rooms are a photo opportunity. Even though the buffet dinner was excellent we had one night a cream and cucumber sauce which I will remember forever, gorgeous! They could get a conveyer belt toaster and put out teaspoons on the tables though.

Loved it, new rooms are a little tired but I didn't go to Norway to sit in a room. Hotel and grounds are beautiful. Staff are friendly and the owner gave a talk on the hotels history. Food is great, good bar (norwegian prices ) fantastic views and plenty to do if you love the outdoors. I cannot recommend Kviknes Hotel and Norway enough. Would move there tomorrow
