Bergen is a picturesque Norwegian city situated on a fjord. The view from a top the hill is well worth the cable ride to the top. Though it was winter and quite cold, the view was spectacular and one to remember.

Really easy to access from Bergen. Pretty cheap for Norway as well. The upper station offers a beautiful view over the city.

One of the best things to do while in Bergen. Buy the ropeway-car tix in advance if you can, it can be a bit crowded during peak times. Good thing is the frequency of the car is every 30 mins for most part of the day. Its a 10 minute ride to the top of the hill, and the journey itself is mesmerising. At the top you have plenty of options to explore, including hiking trails, lake-views, playground for kids, cafe and restaurants for a quite bite.

As the name would suggest, this is where you catch the funicular to go back down to the bottom of the hill. But if you are feeling up to it, the walk is fantastic, especially in nice weather. Otherwise you can purchase a ticket online or at the station itself.
