Beautiful walk to the Briksdal glacier. Nature at its best. Take waterproofs as walk past waterfall can be very wet

26th June. What an amazing Trip to NORWAY. Briksdal Glacier... So glad I had the chance to see it, before it disappears altogether.. A must see if you cruise the Fjords.!

Great little walk (or transport can be paid for) up to a fantastic view of a glacier

I had never seen a glacier before - I prefer warmer climes for my summer holidays, despite living in Spain but this was a truly incredible experience. Apparently much smaller now due to global warming, the glacier is still an incredibly impressive sight. We were told that the blue colouration is due to oxygen being squeezed from the ice due to the pressure being exerted by the ice above, and that this process will continue as long as snow keeps falling and turning into yet more ice - although there is a worry that with less snowfall each year, this may not continue for ever, so go and see it while you can! There's also a reasonably priced bar/café where you can warm up if necessary, but you have to buy something to use the toilets, or pay a small surcharge.

Very nice place. 1:15 minutes walking to the top. You can take a small trolly ride
