This is part of norwegian national tourist highway. There are many beautiful scenic places before and after nedre oscarshaug. Awesome place, awesome feeling, amazing view. If ever I got change, I will drive by the tourist highway and stops by every scenic places and spend few minutes there. Every place on the way..even on the way you will feel great, heaven like feeling. Nature is really beautiful and so are places in Norway. For details on the place itself see below: Nedre Oscarshaug provides one of the best vantage points along the road across the Sognefjellet mountains. A glass telescope with the names of the peaks gives an overview of the surrounding Hurrungane massif. Wheelchair accessible. The viewing platform at Nedre Oscarshaug offers excellent views of the Sognefjellet Mountains. Here you'll have access to a large spyglass to check out the surrounding peaks. Learn the names of the mountains and their heights while observing the impressive Hurrangane mountain range. The viewing platform was designed by the architect Carl-Viggo Hølmebakk and completed in 1997 Nedre Oscarshaug: One of the best vantage points along the road across the Sognefjellet mountains. A glass telescope gives an overview of the surrounding Hurrungane massif. Nedre Oscarshaug er et av de fineste utsiktspunktene på veien over Sognefjellet. Road up and environments is surrounded by beautiful landscape and can camp or tent anywhere and you can also get amazing sky on a day with clear sky
Interesting tool to check out names of mountains
When we started to drive Fv55 road we had no idea it would be such extreme trip, full of fantastic views of mountains, no idea that we will drive 1200 m npm! The Nedre Oscarshaug is a stop in the middle. It is not possible to describe beauty of view. Just try to see it!
Beautiful highland rest stop on Sognefjellet, Norwegian Scenic Route Fv55. No toilet, but there is a viewing platform here that helps you to identify the gorgeous landscape and mountains around. Walk a bit further, you can observe the winding mountains road from Fortun to up here. Simply gorgeous!
Great little piece of design with an amazing view! A must stop along the fjord.
