Birkelund Camping is an amazing friendly campsite and an ideal starting point for hiking in the area and visiting Hivjufossen. We stayed in the cabins that are really clean, modern, heated and fully equipped with the most up-to-date equipment, starting with refrigerators and ending with induction cookers. Very friendly and helpful owners. The prices are also very good, especially for such a great cabins. We were very satisfied and had a really great time here. So we can highly recommend this campsite.

Great camping! Owners are very helpful and will help you find a nice activity that suits you around the area. Camping facilities are good and I can recommend their cabins. Common area is a nice place to sit on a rainy day. The shoe dryer is also very nice to have after hiking through small currents. The campsite is not that big but you should definitely consider Birkelund camping if you plan to stay around the area.
We had a cabin without water. For 48 for 4persons that was a very affordable price. The cabin was small and cosy. 4beds a table with chairs and two Cookingplates. The electric heating is quick and the cabin is well isolated. Very nice to stay.
Very nice camping! Very friendly owners and a nice location! Fishing and mountainbiking is available.
We had a very good night here with our tent! 1. Very nice owner who even speaks a little German 2. Good descriptions, signs and information about the area 3. Environmentally friendly concept for dish washing 4. Smart supply building concept All in all a very nice place to stay close to a lake with a view far away sheeps in the surrounding mountains
Clean and comfy. Modern machines in the service building and free (!) dish washing machines! Also modern cooking plates in the cabin.

Nice camping ground with strict rules. The owner makes excellent and fairly priced burger. The place has excellent facilities and is 5 star. Unfortunately the owner become unpleasant if you not strictly hold the check-out time at 12 am. We had nearly finished and got 2 reminders even whilst carrying a crying child. There were no other campers waiting, the place was nearly empty. We left 12.15 am (!) with an unpleasant feeling. So legally he was right. But as a host he should behave a bit more tactfully.
