Great space for contemporary art. Mainly well established artists, but always a good effort to set the exhibition up. Real effort to make people think, both with the explanation/description and the availability and knowledge of the staff. English and Norwegian texts. Great considered the population of the city/country. Impressive collection, maybe the curators could take a bit more risks and expose up and coming (or/and even local) artists?

The entrance fee for this museum is pretty high, but it is one of my favorite experiences in Oslo. The architecture of this museum is really cool, and it is located right on the water and sprawl between two different buildings, with a beautiful bridge in between both. The exhibitions are more modern Art and they are very cool exhibits here. It is a good mix between sculptures and paintings. The entrance fee is high, but it is really worth it in my experience. The bar and cafe here also has a beautiful view of the water and you can relax here in Between exploring the two buildings. They recommend you take an hour and a half at least explore the museums, but I think you need at least 2 to 3 hours. There’s also an outdoor sculpture area which is very pretty to walk around the weather is nice. The museum is located right near all these cool restaurants along the water. Definitely worth a visit.
The experience at Astrup Fearnley is very dependent on exhibitions they have there at the time of visit. I was not lucky with exhibitions 3 times in a row. I would recommend visiting the museum for a special event or a particular exhibition you might be interested in.
Sculpture Park and Art Museum, what a perfect combination with symbiotic and art infused energetic experience in a perfect setting by the water. Finally, contemporary architecture in Oslo, engaged me and allowed me to embrace Oslo, as compared to some of the earlier buildings like the City Hall. Uniform glazing system for the roof form and local wood cladding for exterior vertical surfacing, did it for me. It’s the simple palette of materials and consistency of its applications, with rigor, purity and bold expressions that results into creative architectural experiences that appeals to my taste. Great project, amazing setting and sensitivity to human experiences sets this project apart.
Awesome museum with great art and cool architecture. Two separate buildings, be sure to check out both of them! Lots of fun stuff for kids to do as well. Nice cafe with outdoor terrace and situated right next to a pebble beach Highly recommend this museum
Nice place to walk and enjoy the view of the bay. So many places where you can taste different foods. Modern designed architecture wonders everyone. Some birds can accompany you while you are sitting on the shore. Many art objects are also can be found here. Definitely this is my favorite place here. Like this review if it was helpful :)
Excellent museum for modern art. Two separate parts -- the permanent exhibition, from the museum's collection, and temporary exhibitions. I strongly recommend the guided tours. The guides are excellent, and so are the rest of the staff.
Should bring your student card will be helpful. Great location with nice view.
