UDI represents a necessity to Norwegian society. However, UDI has the power to choose whether individuals that have job contracts from Norwegian employers, get to keep those contracts or get kicked out of the country. It is unfortunate - if it is to hold this much power it must ensure that it’s systems and knowledge are fully updated.

What an absolute nightmare to deal with. By far the WORST process EVER! Everyone that I deal with, KEPT GIVING ME THE WRONG INFORMATION! Sometimes (not all), they don't even bother to explain, they simply say- sorry, no, can't help you. One of the most FRUSTRATING experience I have ever gone through. UDI, if you can improve the system please- 1. If you update the system, please ensure that everyone gets that new information because too many people were telling me conflicting things. I would call up on the phone, then wait for an appointment, come in and then get denied. That is by far the most frustrating aspect. WRONG INFORMATION. 2. If you would like less people calling up, please list out EXACTLY how the process is meant to go down, because what happened for me was 1. I needed to book an appointment, 2. waited for permit to get approved 3. After it was approved I had to make another appointment. 4. NEEDED TO WAIT OVER A MONTH BEFORE THE NEXT APPOINTMENT TIME. If I was aware I needed to book ANOTHER appointment, I would have done that well ahead of time. Instead, I just got a notice to say, please wait. No! There were definitely things I COULD HAVE DONE WHILE WAITING! 3. If you are going to link yourself to the SUA and Skatteetaten, please PLEASE clarify that. So confusing to deal with one side for such a long time, only to be told at the end, I would probably find more information somewhere else. REALLY frustrating.

About 16,000 people enter Norway every year for Family Reunion Visas. My viking and I guesstimate half are joining native Norwegians, which is 7,500. From the portal that we used online, all of these cases are booked under the wrong pretence, since the website only offers booking for non-Norwegian Family Reunion visas. Each visa meeting is 15 minutes which is roughly 1,875 hours a year, which equates to more than one full-time employee processing these docs and meetings. Not accounting for the time wasted on waiting, traveling, time off work and re-booking that this problem has created. In addition to all of this, maybe half of these people complain, which takes time to process as well- which is another full-time employee working to handle this. Then management would spend maybe 30 hours deciding how to deal with this issue. And now you are reading this, which is more time wasted!!!!!!! In other words, fix their website!
