NMEC is located in Bømlo, where industrial innovation has taken place for more than a century. There are ongoing work to strengthen the infrastructure and facilities in order to improve and expand business - both in the industrial center @Rubbestadneset, and the fishery and aquaculture center @Langevåg. @Rubbestadneset there are solid plans for building a dry dock (LOS Gruppen) and the building of a Technology Center (UNITECH) including location for vocational school. @Langevåg the local fishing industry has teamed up to advance the development of Bømlo Fishery Harbour.
