Every single thing about Norwegian Oil and Gas Exploration and industry has been set up and displayed. The huge discovery of offshore oil & gas, human right, life expectancy and so so made Norway the richest, happiest, healthiest and safest country in the world today. There is a nice restaurant inside the museum.

This museum goes really into details on production processes and machinery involved in producing petroleum. It also looks at the different phases the industry and the community has gone through with the discovery of oil. I particularly like the documentary Oil child or kids. the rooftop gives you amazing views of the city.

This is an amazing museum covering an incredible amount of information about the petroleum industry and Norway. The exhibits are very well done. There is a tremendous amount of information to absorb, and the detail of the models is truly stunning. It was really cool to be able to climb inside a real diving bell and work with tools rig workers use. The museum addresses the tremendous amount of effort which goes into Norwegian petroleum extraction, the huge benefit it has provided the country, and the significant controversies surrounding the process. It was well worth the time spent and the admission price, and admission entitles you to a discount (50% on the day I was there) on admission to other museums like the maritime or canning museums.

A really well-done museum packed with information ranging from the history of the oil and gas industry in Norway to the current state and aspired future state (there’s a particularly nice section about renewable/clean energy). Great for all ages and learner types as there are many interactive elements in the museum in addition to text-heavy sections. Would suggest 1.5 - 2 hours for a visit.
