Villa Sandvigen, is an old restaurant, with excellent views of the lake, and beautiful grounds around the restaurant. They serve both lunch and dinner. On our last visit, we had open sandwiches for lunch, I choose the steak sandwich, and my wife had shrimp sandwich. Both were excellent. The staff was also very friendly,

I never felt so cuddled in a restaurant in my whole life ️ the waitress (that, to my understanding, is also the chef) prepared also some toys for my 8 months old baby, plus she gave us some extra bread to feed her. The food was superb (make sure to leave some space for dessert. The chocolate brownie was worth this trip to Norway).

An unexpected pearl. Mid 19th century inn, charming Norwegian interior and a beautiful view of woods and a lake. The fall mushroom soup and venison were as good as it gets. We'll be back.

Known for its hospitality and welltasting food, this place has been arround for generations. Alltough later years, there has been arround slight decay on service. Still a beautifull place to spend a few hours.

Ordered two filet mignon, one with Béarnaise and the other with pepper sauce. The food tasted delicious. For dessert we had the cake of the day, a very moist and quite perfect traditional cream sponge cake. Cant complain about the food, but the service... now that was something else. Asked for a glass of Cotes du Rhone red wine, but the waitress came out with a bottle of the house vine, poured a completely full glass, and left without explanation. We also didn't get the pepper sauce, and after the waitress delivered the food, she disappeared into the kitchen and didn't come back for quite a while. A good server should always check on the customers within the first couple of minutes after getting the food, just to check if everything is in order.
