Music volume was perfect which is hard to find in Norway, averaged 80db which was loud enough to listen to good music, low enough I could speak to my partner and most importantly, a bar I could drink at despite my tinnitus. Drinks were nice and food was good :)

The place is awesome ! I would compare it with Hard Rock Cafe. But it has its own charm and spirit. Only the interior and nice stuff makes you feel like home . Hard to give an advice on the Burgers as we all have different tastes . But Spicy and Blue Cheese are my favorite for now. Good selection of beer as well.

Kabb is closed. Now the Happy Elefant! Stopped in for a drink while on a walkabout through historic Alesund. A nice new pub/restaurant in the midst of the cobblestone streets of the old town. More restaurant than pub the Americana motif is well balanced and inviting. Mild classic rock supported the relaxed atmosphere. Did not sample the menu but food passing by looked well presented and appetizing. The sidewalk patio looks inviting and a good spot to wait out the wait out the shopping frenzy that comes with cruising.

We stumbled upon this place during a sudden downpour and popped in for a drink and ended up having lunch. A further two visits has this charming place embedded as part of our memory of Ålesund. The burly Norwegian at the bar is a treasure, along with the other staff. Great decor, we spent 30 minutes trying to name band photos and movie posters. Great song playlist too. But the best thing is the friendly and welcoming staff. They are truly an asset. Highly recommend a leisurely afternoon, sipping drinks and watching people put the window. A shame we live so far away, otherwise I could see this place being my regular haunt.
