Lovely antique spot on the way to Vettisfossen waterfalls. It is kept as a gem, to the point that it feels somehow like being in a living museum... I visited it off season, so it was extremely quiet, something that perhaps amplified such sensation, although the keepers, very friendly and informative, told me that the place is usually extremely busy. Do not miss their norwegian waffle!

Expensive, bad service and not clean. Do not stay here if you don’t have to. Unfortunately I had a very bad experience with this place. It is very lovely place and a huge pity that the service is so bad. I visited more than 10 cabins in the whole Jotunheimen and this was my worst experience. After my long hike from Skogadalsboen I arrived to this place and first information that I got, was that they don’t serve dinner for people that did not preorder. I wasn’t offered anything else instead. I couldn’t stay in the common dining room that evening because it was “not allowed” so I spent the evening in my little very cold bedroom. The breakfast was served from 8 to 9 and arriving at 8:30 I got breakfast for 160 NOK that was the worst breakfast I have ever gotten in my life. At 9 I was told that they close the place and that I was told that very clearly two times the evening before. The toilets were very dirty the day I arrived with only 3 guests that day and were still very dirty the next morning and also later when I got back from my short hike to the waterfall. I really didn’t feel welcome at this place and definitely won’t be coming back again.

My wife and mother in law was her summer 2020, and it was sadly a big disappointment. Please choose another place or save the money.

Great place for a rest before the hike up to Vettifossen. Has a cafe where they serve food, coffee, beer.

Excellent place to stop for eating on the way to Vettisfossen. They serve homemade food ( a rarity in Norway nowadays) at reasonable prices ( for norwegian standards , at least . Very friendly management and breathinkg views!!

A place I remember with good memories. Typical Norwegian set up with lots of history. The service is excellent and very helpful. Spotlessly clean and lovely traditional food. Good for a weekend trip or first or last day for a trip into Jotunheimen.
