A UNESCO worth visiting. A bit of history predating current inhabitants and inside displays of more recent history. Gift shop and modest self-serve restaurant with a stellar view seating inside or outside. Be prepared for walking several km on easy trails and wooden boardwalks.

Interesting museum and all the stone carvings! We spent over 2 hours there inside studying and outside looking for the carvings/dravings.

Pretty cool museum of almost 100 acres of what they call "rock" art" It's prehistoric pictures chiseled into rock. Like old cave drawings. Afraid you will have to expand the shots a lot to see them. Some were colored with red dye to make them more visible. Largest collection in Europe... And some really cool, freaky supernatural creatures. I have no idea why they are there. Have nothing to do with the rock etchings...

Visited in February, lots of snow on the ground so could not see any exhibits outside, but the scenery was fantastic. Very friendly staff, lovely cafe, lockers available to put you bags in, well thought out museum, very interesting. Easy bus ride from Alta, walked back through the snow, just fabulous scenery, good walkway all way back to Alta, took just an hour.

Most amazing to see these rock carvings made so many centuries ago. They represent people, boats and animals. This is a place to visit when you are in the neighbourhood of Alta.

Very kind service. The inside exhibition nicely complements the one on the outside and I would recommend you check out everything if you have time. All in all well worth a visit!
