Very impressive place. The museum is nice with a lot of information. The church itself impressive. Though it was raining there was a guide at the church welcoming us with a smile. We received a lot of information. Absolut a must visit. The kids also got some painting and playing stuff.

Tiny little church but so interesting. They offer a short impromptu guided tour in English if you are there with a group. Else, you can self guide with the leaflet provided.
Seems as the authors say, one of the most historically authentic of all the stave churches. Served as a model for the construction of Hopperstad and Gol (that was moved near Oslo). The dragon heads made with several pieces are impressive. The tar smell and old wood compose a beautiful combination. Recommended to visit the museum, gives a clear image of the building process
This church isn't so big but it's a glimpse of the past. And how the vikings loved and worshipped. It was interesting to see and it's great to see the Norwegian government take so much pride in making sure this church is preserved for future generations to come.
Definetly one of the most spectacular stave churches in Norway and then hence the world. The one with most original parts and the model used for restoration of other stave churches. We bought tickets at the visitor center (100 NOK for an adult) and for this we got entrance to the exhibition with a lot of good information, the stave church it self and a guidet tour of the stave church. Good value for money in my opinion.
Incredible old stave church. Well preserved and extremely cool too see.
The church was very pretty and unique. There was an exhibition in a separate building with restrooms and a gift shop. There were guides inside the church, explaining it's history in both English and Norwegian.
Very nice, a must visit place, friendly staff who explain the whole story behind this oldest church in planet... construction in wood many 1400 tombs can be seen around the church... now it’s a monument and no service happens
