On my way to Ireland for some critical meetings. Unfortunately half way there was offloaded due to confusion at the airport on rules given one nationality, resident in another country, spouse and kids Norwegian citizens. Rushed back to Oslo and called the Irish Embassy first thing in the morning. I am former diplomat’s child and have a fairly good understanding of how embassies and processes work, especially having applied for visas my whole life. The response and willingness from the Irish Embassy in Oslo from the start has been phenomenal. A human being answers the phone immediately upon selection, patiently listened to the case and guided me through next potential options. Came back to me within 30 mins with Next steps. I proceeded to provide documents immediately and again within the hour they came back to me after doing the needful on their end (which in itself is commendable). They proceeded to help and guide me through the application process which is unheard off next. Within two hours of my call I had submitted my passport, they did their magic on their end and I had my passport back in an hour later with an approved visa. What is important to highlight particularly is that at all times both resources at the Embassy were extremely helpful, friendly, non-judgemental and resolution oriented. This has set a new bar for diplomatic services across the world and I hope others can take the positive lessons learned. Well done Embassy of Ireland in Oslo, you couldn’t represent Ireland any better! I have many Irish friends and they are warm and funny. It was good to see the same charm at the Embassy. I look forward to going to Ireland on many occasions.

Regretfully lost my passport whilst in Oslo, the Irish Embassy and the assistance received was fantastic, they (she) couldn't have done any more to help- baring in mind too this was over a weekend outside normal hours- would make anyone proud to be Irish. 5/5 without question.
