A very interesting place. It was fortune, that we stay a night here and we were absolutely surprised of the surroundings. Many ways to walk and you also get the chance to learn something about the history.

Great place. Beautiful, interesting and accommodating. Not necessarily a good bet for people with mobility issues. The museum might be able to help at daytime, though. This also a nice place for an outing and is always open, but be sure to clean up after you. Leaving stuff behind here really ruins the experience for others.
Everytime I go I enjoy itmoreand more. The change of seasons and all the beauty within... If I move here soon im gonna ask them for a job. These are pano shoots with all the forts within . look close and I will see...
Very nice fort, you cane have a great view of Fredrikstadt and golf court.
A beautiful, quiet historical landmark. When I visited yesterday with my son we were the only ones there. Great views of Fredrikstad from the walls.
It's a beautiful fortress on a hill in Fredrikstad, placed at a distance from the Old Town itself, but not very far, so it's worth taking a 10-minute walk from Gamlebyen (fortified Old Town by the river) to visit this well preserved military fort dating back to A.D. 1685. The advantage is a nice view from the hill and fortress walls in all directions and an encounter with a piece of Norwegian history. The gates are open even after dark, so it's convenient to come late. A great and romantic place!
Nice place to visit
Must see in the city.
