My wife and I were traveling in Lofoten for 2 days and wanted to see the midnight sun from the water, and some wildlife as well. I had read good things about Lofoten Adventures and so I gave them a call. Their team was friendly and we managed to grab the last two seats on the midnight safari that evening. We got all suited up in the warm gear and headed out on the water. In the first 10 minutes we saw a sea eagle swoop down and grab a fish from the water - a frozen fish our guide had brought and tossed out to sea to attract the eagles. It was overcast that day so we didn't have a perfect sunset, but the sky was still quite beautiful. We saw more sea eagles and on the way back a family of seals too. Their heads bobbed up from the water with curiosity all around us. The entire trip was 2.5h and we really enjoyed it. The guide shared some insights along the way, but not as much as I've experienced from guides on other safari's. It might have been nice to learn more about the animals - how large is a sea eagle? How fast can they fly? Things like that. We did ask some questions which the guide was happy to answer. They were very knowledgeable. It's a really well run business and I would love to go on their other adventures.

The team was very friendly and helpful, especially for trying out our snorkeling outfits. We weren't lucky enough to see any orcas but nature is wild and cannot be tamed and we understand that. However I have had too few information on the experience before hand. I didn't know what type of equipment or clothes to wear or bring, how long the whole experience would last (boat, snorkeling...), how much daylight we would be getting, etc. A briefing before D-day would see like a good idea for anyone who doesn't know what to expect from. A brief summary at the time of the booking for example.

Very bad and expensive experience. We have booked, me and my friend, a swimming experience with the orcas. We saw no orca this day, but we saw them from the coast the day before, not far from the boat trip, so I guess we were not lucky. Roll the dice ... But the thing is that the day of our trip, the sea was horrible. We were in the zodiac, smashing against big waves from two to three meters deep all the time. NO WAY we could go in the water with the orcas if we would have had the chance to see them. The conditions were terrible, some people get sick on the boat, one threw up... There were two boats, and we were going around the coast, looking for orcas. There where almost no chance to see them with that weather, even for the people just doing the sightseeing option. They knew that there was no chance, but we went anyway.. and the worst is that they gave us the wetsuits althought they knew we would not go in the water, making the trip even more uncomfortable and colder. All we had at the end was « it s nature ». Of course it is, that s the risk. But when you know that people will not be able to go in the water, admit it and give them the normal clothes, or be honest, and cancel the trip. Money, money, money... We sent several emails to ask for at least a refund from the difference between sightseeing and swimming experience. Never get a reply.

We drove from Andenes on an Orca Safari. The support by the team was good. Unfortunately we did not see any orca. But sperm whales. Due to bad weather, we returned to port earlier.

We took the midnight safari and it was good value for us! We saw sea eagles and the midnight sun was beautiful! The landscape alone is worth it! The night after my friends went and they say killer whales. But that was rare the guide said.
