MABIT'S MAIN OBJECTIVE: -To assist in increasing the value of the fishery, aquaculture and biotechnology industries. -To serve as an active driver and coordinator for strengthening R&D and industrial activities within the marine biotechnology sector in the region of northern Norway. MABIT PROGRAM MUST: -finance industry-relevant R&D projects that can lead to commercial product development -maintain a high level of professional activities -show clear results in terms of industrial innovation in marine biotechnology -contribute to the development of professional competence relevant to biotechnological business activities -obtain at least 30% of program funding from industry actors -use regional competence to promote marine biotechnology as a national focus area
