This was a great little museum about the history of the area before, during and after WW2, and how it was rebuilt. Well worth a visit if your in the town.

Museum documenting the ressurection of the region after ww2. Absolutely worth å visit if you want to understand the cultural background of the "northerners"
Small but modern and very descriptive museum about WW II crimes in Norway and the reconstruction of the cities. Many fotos and showcases speak for themselves. Takes about an hour to explore. Languages are Norwegian, English and German. Ticket prices are very fair. Student and senior discount available.
View is superb and scenic. Overlooking the sea!
Whilst it covered some difficult moments in history, it did so with a lightness of touch. A documentary was particularly good. Worth a visit.
Very interesting and touching. Especially the stories of the personal items there.
Coming from Germany I have to admit that I only had limited awareness of the impact of second world War to Norway. Great documentation and a must see.
Very well put together museum
