Good museum, for people who like museums, other wise there are more engaging museums in town. Sadly the basement was water damaged when I was there, but it was still nice.
Plan on a good two-three hours. So much to see and understand. I enjoyed my visit very much.
I went to the mask exhibition and ended up drawing childrens masks. Excellent personnel.
A bit old fashioned museum. The collection is surprising, Handicraft and interior.
One of the finest collections of antiques and artefacts that are amazingly preserved. The current changing display is a collection picked out by the local politicians, artists, students and other art interested individuals. An absolute favourite is the room decorated with Tiffany windows and glass ceiling, as well as the Japanese collection on the top floor. The basement holds wonderfully hand crafted furniture pieces, Venetian glass ornaments, and a collection of rain wear! Throughout the museum you can marvel at Hannah Ryggen's tapestries with political and social commentary. You can spend a few hours here easily, and the ticket is definitely worth it. Enjoy!
Great chair exhibition.
Fabulous art and very good guides!
