I haven't been yet, but some of my friend have, and through them, I know this Museum is a phenomenal one. My goal is to visit in the next 5 years or so.

Visited here in Dec 18, great museum and it had the world famous "The Scream" by Edvard Munch on display. As well as are on display there is a separate room where you can try your own hand at art! I'm not an art buff but enjoyed the museum, worth a visit and will get you out the cold for an hour or two!

Great collection of Norwegian and international art masterpieces ! Have old European masters as El Greco, collection of 19th and 20th impressionists Renoir, Picasso, Monet, Cezanne and of coarse works of Edward Munch ! Definitely recommend this place to visit for art lovers! Unfortunately now temporarily closed!

The most comprehensive art museum in Oslo, featuring art from Ancient Greece to modern day. Particularly strong in artwork from Norway. Perhaps the best version of the portrait Scream is featured here.

A huge gallery with a great range of paintings and artists. Admission is free on Thursdays, there is a clean and nice restroom, as well as lockers for personal belongings. Totally recommended place for a visit

Huge gallery with different epochs of painting, also some halls dedicated to famous artists: Munch, Picasso, etc. Be ready to wait a little for the photo with the Scream or Vang Gogh portrait also in the begging for buying tickets. Innovative halls, possibility to buy headphones with historical information, big souvenir and book shop :)
