It was very disappointing going there they did not wellcome us and reacted to us like terrorist and started questioning us with every detail of what were doing here and where were going End of story I would decently not recommend to go there
Charming, friendly, top security.
The only synagoge in Oslo. Wonderful interior. Was there for the memorial seminar for the November pogroms.
I was somewhat disappointed in the visit to the synagogue , not aware that there was a requirement to contact them st least a minimum of one month prior to a planned visit So they could do a background check of the visitora. They also said your email should tell them why you want to visit and who you are. . I was told by the wonderful security guard outside, that even with the submitted request for a visit, some visitors are still turned away. The outside is a very old building with lovely letters in Hebrew enscribed over the door, but I was saddened that I was not allowed entry. So- if you consider a visit to this Orthodox synagogue- visit the website (website is being updated now) and submit a request for a visit at least one month before you plan to go.
Very nice place, nice people and a pleasant atmosphere.
i want to go here with my school
contact the Jewish community before arrival and they will take care of you
