In my opinion, this is one of the best places in the mountains of Norway. We will definitely be back. The cabin is beautifully located by the lake Rondvatnet, and the mountain scenery there is stunning. Great food, friendly and serviceminded people at the reception. Cozy atmosphere. A good starting point for a wide range of summits, both easy and more challenging ones. Also very grateful for assistanse recieved frombthe staff after an accident that ocurred while I was hiking with my kids.

Amazing location and nice places for tents as well. The prices for food are very high, 45 kr for a waffle is way to much.
A lovely place to stay, delicious fresh food, and amazing hikes into another world. The hikes can be a little rough on the ankles due to the amount of rocky terrain but apart from that it's a true Norwegian experience.
This is a really nice cosy, comfortable and warm place. This is a base camp for the hike to many hiking trails including to the peak. It is 6km from the parking lot and you can either hike or bike there. The bikes are available to rent at the parking lot. It is an easy hike, we did it carrying a baby in a carrier. We didn't stay the night but took a lunch break. They are quite busy but the service is quick. You can even use the facilities at a small charge if you are camping.
I spent 4 nights here, hiking in the Rondane National Park. The touristic complex is very nice, with free hot shower and a drying room. Tenting is very cheap and very good conditions. The cabin provides electricity to charge phones, a free different beer types (starting at 95 NOK) and quite a few eating options (including delicios waffles). There is no phone signal or Wifi. If you have a chance, bring your own bycicle. Walking 6.2km with all the stuff ain't really fun and renting a bycicle ain't cheap either. I totally recommend this place to those lookin for a good hike.
A gorgeous alpine hut nestled in a beautiful valley, surrounded by majestic mountains. I stayed in the dorm for two nights, and used Rondvassbu as a starting point for day hikes, all starting from the hut itself. I came during the height of summer, and many of the hut's occupants were Norwegian presumably on summer sabbatical. I encountered very few foreigners. This is what I presume is an authentic Norwegian mountain experience. Just note that you must either walk or bike the 6.5 km to reach the hut from the Spranget parking lot (a beautiful stroll).
Great place for a break, it is possible to eat lunch packs or buy food and drinks
The best service, delicious three course dinner as long as the weather allow transport of commodities. A great base for hikes to several 2000 meter peaks. This really is a pearl.
