This travel agency ignores EU customer rights We booked our holiday for Umbria in the beginning of January for the first half of August this year. In the middle of the first wave of the Covid-19 situation, we contacted them, and their terms stated that covid cancellations would be refunded. However, they later changed their policy and decided to offer vouchers FOR THE AMOUNT PAID, but urged us to wait and claim them when the travel situation in the summer would be clearer. Then again, they changed and only offered vouchers for the full amount of the holiday deal, thus urging us to pay the FULL AMOUNT for a holiday we knew we could not take anymore, as my husband’s holiday period was cancelled due to the whole Covid-19 situation. We got legal advice and found out that there is a European law (still valid in the U.K. till the end of 2020) that states that customers are entitled to a full refund if they do not accept the alternatives offered by travel companies (in our case, the voucher). It also says that, if your personal situation has changed (i.e. an altered holiday period for the client), you are especially protected. Posarelli Villas does not wish to take any reason into account and threatened us to take legal actions if we were to publish bad reviews explaining what has happened to us. They are ignoring our rights as a customer and also the EU regulations in this matter, a real shame. Do they really think they can ignore the law? Let’s stop the practices of this company and tell everybody to think carefully before making any booking with them.
