A historic monument located in a beautiful place. Worth a visit!

According to the legend, Leiv Eiriksson, son of Erik the Red, departed from Trondheim and did his voyage to Vinland, now known as North America, around the year 1000, several centuries before Christopher Columbus. From this place, besides the monument to the explorer, you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Trondheim Fjord.

It was so special to travel here from Washington State and find my Grandpas name here!

It's a statue, nothing more or less. Cool to see the Seattle connection.

Interesting tag plate with explanation about possible north america discovery by vikings. Statue itself and surrounding area is boring.

I expected it to be bigger, nevertheless it is a good part of history.

First man to discover the New Continent of America. Unlike what you are told to believe, its was never Colombus. But this man!
