Mari Vattekar Markman works mainly with extensive high-end projects in Sweden and Norway. Her clients range from company owners to investors, business executives and the Swedish nobility. Her designs are characterised by an elegant touch and a timeless quality. However, she does not impose a specific style upon her clients but rather looks to each client's personality and lifestyle, the architecture of the buliding in question and the surrounding area to find the right style for each project. Over the years, Mari has worked with several historical and period houses, and most of her projects today are in older buildings where she can use her knowledge of architectural history and the history of styles and combine all these aspects to create interiors for a well-functioning modern life. In every project a lot of work is focused on finding the right solutions for space planning, movement patterns, ergonomics and technical solutions such as lighting and home automation. When these necessary puzzle pieces have found their place, Mari's work moves on to sourcing the right materials, colour schemes, furniture, fabrics and accessories for each project. She often sources antiques or vintage furniture and pieces of art for her projects but equally often she designs her own furniture quite bespoke for each client. Mari's clients appreciate her discretion and professionalism as well as her ability to understand and analyse their lifestyle, preferences and personalities. Prior to her studies at the highly regarded KLC School of Design in London, Mari has a background as a Financial Analyst. She uses this experience to apply processes from the business world into her design practice resulting in a well-organised and professional design studio. As many of Mari's clients value their privacy, only a handful of her work is shown publicly. However, references and a more extensive portfolio can always be shown to potential serious clients on a one to one basis.
