Great view over the fjord and logs crackling in the fireplace. We really recommend the hot soup for lunch after a beautiful autumn walk along the coastal path.

I was a bit reluctant to come here because they have had so many poor reviews lately. So I was pleasantly surprised. We we advised to park beside the Joker, as there is no parking on the street outside Villa Malla. Buffet only. Lunch is from 12:00 to 15:00 and dinner from 16:00 to 20:00. Reservations are not possible. We arrived at about 12:20, parked beside Joker and walked perhaps 500m to Villa Malla. There was a queue and it took about 15 minutes before we could order drinks and pay. They are taking Covid-19 seriously, however many of the guests struggle with the concept of social distancing. The food is mostly North African/ Eastern Mediterranean. Some of the reviewers may have mistaken Mediterranean for Italian. Lunch was an assortment of salad and cold dishes, as well as fruit. My only criticism was that the chicken was too dry, everything else was delicious. I'm not sure if they have childrens prices, we had two 12 yos with us and the price was the same as for adults, 295kr per head. After lunch we lay on the jetty while the kids enjoyed the water. We will definitely be returning.
The place has a nice summer feel. Lunch didn't live up to the expectations, however, it was during the covid-19 reopening period. So I'll give them a bit slack. Worth the trip fro Oslo!
Nice place to pass a day when weather is nice. Food is good, looks like a vegan buffet. I only missed some cake or cookies
